Deconstruction at Mt Cuba Center Pt. 2

Today we returned to Mt. Cuba Center to continue with the deconstruction. We now have everything of value to the ReStore out of the one house. We filled our truck with doors, cabinets, appliances, a hand rail and bathroom fixtures. These items are being unloaded into the store now.

The house had cast iron radiators. Since they had to be cut out they have no resale value but the metal can be scrapped. It took a huge effort by Matt and Leon but they were determined not to leave them behind. Ten radiators of various sizes were removed. All of them are quite heavy so we should get a good return from the scrap yard.

The second house still has items in it to be removed. We will be going back next week to finish clearing out that house.
